What is reality? How can we understand ourselves and our place in the universe? Are our problems really caused by people out there, or are those external situations relfections of what's going on inside? What is the true cause of illness?
Big questions. But the important thing to say is that all of them have answers within the science of Analytical Trilogy. This is a well developed body of work. Which means, the answers to our problems are not far away.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, the Principles of the Science of Analytical Trilogy.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been skeptical about anything purporting to be the next great thing, the answer to the mysteries of the universe, and so forth. So when I launched this Podcast with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco about a year ago, I was already thinking about how to talk about the science she uses in her analysis sessions - Analytical Trilogy - in a way that would make it real for people. We've tried, through our analysis of numerous callers in to our program, to address real-life, day-to-day challenges as our listeners have brought them to us. From a salesman dealing with the difficulties of cold calling, to a young eastern European artist trying to cope with the traumas of civil war and understand her toxic relationships, to a woman trying to find peace with her problematic sister, we've tried to go deep into the psychological life of each one to offer some healing through consciousness.
And it is this great philosophical, scientific, sociological and even theological science developed by Brazilian psychoanalyst and social scientist, Norberto Keppe, that gives us the metaphysical underpinnings to attempt this.
When I first encountered Analytical Trilogy about 10 years ago, I was interested in how it could be applied to help individual development through workshops and lectures. And it certainly is effective in that area.
But I've since come to see how expansively it can be applied to all fields of human endeavor. And this blanket application is possible because of Keppe's discovery of a basic psychological condition we all suffer from, called Inversion. This means we see everything upside down, and we create upside down structures, too, as a consequence.
For example, we elaborate enormous profit generating machines called pharmaceutical companies who don't cure disease but make us sicker because we insist on seeing disease as coming from outside germs and viruses and bacteria. We create elaborate and confusing investment instruments that create speculative bubbles that suck trillions out of our pockets because of our distorted idea that money comes from money instead of work and production. Our religious leaders suggest that God is to be found only in the institutions when the truth is that He can only truly be found inside us. Our inverted science leads us to destroy nature in a non-stop drive to get our energy from material because science doesn't understand that material is not the source of energy.
And on and on it goes, and we're left with inverted education and families and political systems.
All of this is explained and, even more remarkably, corrected through Keppe's extraordinary body of work. Analytical Trilogy will be explored in great detail at our psycho-social forum, Healing the World Through Consciousness of Inversion, May 13 - 15, 2010, here in São Paulo, Brazil. Email me if you'd like more information, or check out our site.
The psycho-social forum is the subject of Healing Through Consciousness today with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco.

Power and Religion
The belief we have in our homeland or ethnic identity can be a powerful thing. It's ben used to bind people together in times of national emergency. But also to justify eliminating any who've been found ethnically "undesirable." Any student of history can reel off dozens of examples.
We've separated ourselves from each other by race, country and religion, by sex and social class, by designations like blue collar and white.
Maybe now it's time to re-think it all.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Power and Religion.
Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco has been speaking a lot recently on our program about how the framework for a true society is already here. For me as a Canadian, this has been something of a revelation. We Canadians are well along in the process of multiculturalism, which is our attempt to build a pluralistic society through law and legislation. Everyone with the right to health care and education, importated cultural values being respected no matter how different from our own, suppressing and even prohibiting our traditional customs if it makes new, culturally different Canadians uncomfy, that sort of thing. And this is not only laid out in law, but held to be true in the hearts and minds of all progressive Canadians.
Many non-Christians in the community? Sure we'll prohibit Christmas Trees in the schools! It's the only decent thing to do, after all. The City of Toronto years ago lobbied to change the words of the National Anthem from, "O Canada, our home and native land," to "our home and cherished land so immigrants wouldn't be so offended.
They failed.
Immigrant groups become "minority groups", and some chafe at the label. It's a stew of emotions and opinions where we slip a cultural organagram over the more universal rules for a true society that Dr. Claudia Pacheco has been talking about in our recent programs, and which I find, frankly, relieving and clarifying.
There's so much struggle in this area of culture and society that it's become one of the most pressing issues of our time perhaps. When we see politicians exploiting centuries-old cultural and religious differences to drive a wedge between happily integrated Serbians and Croatians and the subsequent horror of ethnic cleansing that erupted as a result; when we see extremists inverting the intention of Mohammed's concept of Jihad away from the true meaning of inner war with the demons within to external war with the western demon without; when we see the European Union trying to forbid Christian symbols being displayed in Italian government representative offices, we can start to perceive that there is much more going on than just the movement and flux of cultures adjusting and trying to make way for others in our globalized reality.
And it all serves to highlight again the integrative nature of Norberto Keppe's Analytical Trilogy, which has accomplished a re-union of science with philosophy and theology, affording us an opportunity to bring real understanding again to our human condition - not the constant confusion created by layering law over amendment over legislation and back again which so characterizes our modern multi-cultural societies.
Before I continue this fascinating and essential discussion with Dr. Pacheco and my colleague, Susan Berkley, I'd like to advise you that we'll be laying out Keppe's science of Analytical Trilogy in its entirety at our Psycho-Social Forum, Healing The World Through Consciousness, May 13 - 15, 2010 here in São Paulo. This is an open invitation for any who'd like to participate and find out more about Analytical Trilogy and how they can apply Keppe's research and clinical discoveries into their areas of expertise. The website is up now, and as always you can get more info by emailing me.

Realizing the Dream of a Perfect Society
We think of it as something that needs to be built, constructed through law and legislation. That we need social contracts and eloquent declarations to lay out the articles and conventions that express what's acceptable in this society of our making.
Some fight to destroy what's been built, strip society down to its bare bones with the idea of building it up again, only correctly this time.
Few stop to consider that a perfect societal framework has already been provided.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Realizing the Dream of a Perfect Society.
It can seem fantastical, can't it? The idea that we could actually live in a world of harmony and peace and brotherhood normally belongs to the reality of out-0f-touch dreams with their heads in the clouds, right? Most of us don't believe for a second that that's possible. If we ever find ourselves lost in reverie and imagining a world where war and terrorism and poverty were things of the past, we quickly shake our heads and bring ourselves "back to reality", by which we mean back to corruption and deceit and injustice and all that stuff.
We've come to accept that girtty disturbed state as reality, when actually, it's anything but. In Analytical Trilogy, we see all this very differently: reality would be only what is good, beautiful and truthful. Anything in society that deviates from that is actually out of reality.
Now there's a thought for you. Reality would actually be this idealistic world that we dismiss as being an impossible utopia, while this decadent situation we live in and call the real world is a complete abomination.
So when Obama talks in his acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize about morally justifiable war, we can analyze this through Keppe's science of psycho-socio-pathology for the inverted philosophy that it is.
We're very concerned that this consciousness be spread on our planet because it's time we human beings leave our inverted worldview where we see true reality as impossible and the destruction of reality as "just the way it is." We must stop seeing corruption and violence and crime as the nature of Man.
It's not, and Norberto Keppe's beautiful work clarifies all this for us. What a relief!
And a little advance announcement for you. We'll be exploring all this at our World Psycho-Social Forum - Healing the World Through Consciousness - May 6 - 16, 2010 here in Brazil. More on that coming very soon. Email me to make sure you get in the loop. joneshealing@gmail.com

The True New World Order
There have been whispers of its coming down through the millennia. In religious and philosophical traditions from every corner of the globe they speak of it. Idealists and despots alike have been driven by its compelling promise - though obviously with quite different results.
Mystics have foretold it, explorers have been inspired by it, and now movies based on esoteric calendar prophecies from ancient indians reference its dark side.
But here in Brazil, we have a more complete perspective.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, the True New World Order.
First, let me be very quick to distance myself from the terrible new world order pushed by malevolent secret societies for hundreds of years, culminating in that fateful 1991 speech by secret sect shill, Bush the Elder. I want to make it clear we have nothing to do with that.
No, anyone who's been listening to Healing Through Consciousness and our sister podcast, Thinking with Somebody Else's Head for awhile will know that we're 180 degrees distant from that. Our program originates from São Paulo, Brazil, the headquarters of the International Society of Analytical Trilogy, Dr. Norberto Keppe's scientific institute. And our purpose is quite another than world domination.
Our goal is consciousness ... but that's one of those rather Pasteurized words these days, and by that I mean that most of the nutrients have been taken out of the word. So let me try to put the guts back into it.
Keppe's work is a broad and comprehensive effort to conscientize us about the reality of our human condition. Not in a mystical or generic way, but in a scientific one. Keppe's premise is that human beings are almost completely denying the truth of themselves and their humanity in numerous ways, and this is causing all the destruction, suffering and misery we see around us.
Our megalomania is causing us to alter the true, created reality by modifying the genetics and adding the poisonous chemicals and unhealthy hormones and additives; our envy causes us to consume endlessly in a vain attempt to fill a void caused by never being satisfied; our complete unwillingness to see our imbalance individually and collectively causes us to see all our problems outside, in partners and viruses and terrorists. And so we become more and more dangerous in our mad rush to bombard everything outside us and skipping over the far more dangerous problems within.
Keppe's Analytical Trilogy offers us a way to settle all this, to see all these problems at the roots and then treat them directly - not just slap a band-aid on the symptom while the infection continues untreated below the surface.
There are so many exciting developments in Keppe's science, from new proposals in energy and technology, to landmark work into the influence of the psyche on disease, to stunning proposals for solving our economic terrorise, to the development of a scientific theology. And all of this is available to you through our Trilogy portal, or just drop me a line at our HTC email.
Now, I promised you a look today at the new world order. And my co-host, Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco is the perfect person to approach this subject. Her book, The Secret History of Brazil, explores the history of this dream of a 3rd millennium, a new age, the fifth empire. Today's conversation is soaringly exhilarating. Enjoy.

The True Power of Goodness
Sometimes, we all look around at the mess and problems of our society and world and think, "Good heavens. We'll never resolve all this!" It's overwhelming. Worrying. Scary even.
But we're heading into Christmas time, and if ever there is an opportune time to take steps to remedy society's distortion, it is now. Surrounded as we are by these serious issues of lack of faith and charity, it's always beneficial to call forward the true spirit of Christmas.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, the True Power of Goodness.
And I'm not talking about "letting a smile be your umbrella" or any of those other thousands of homilies that suggest we can raise our spirits simply by using slogan-adorned T-shirts or fridge magnets.
I remember my brother coming home from college for the holidays and lamenting that it was getting harder and harder each year to feel the Christmas spirit. In those days, I think we all though that if you just carried on, sooner or later the spirit would just kick in somehow ... like a perennial tulip bulb just awaiting the right conditions before awakening.
This is somewhat delusional, of course, thinking that the Christmas spirit would emergy spontaneously like spring.
No, my friends. To create a spirit of something, we need to take appropriate action. This is what opens the door to a resonance with spiritual things. My brother was waiting for the thing to hit, like waiting for the roulette wheel to come around with the ball in the pay-off slot.
And this need for good action is never more required for all of our social ailments than today. If we want something better, we've got some work to do.
Our program today is the result of a heart-felt email from a woman named Jan, and it affords Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco the opportunity to launch off on an expansive consideration of some of the principal issues facing us and our modern, technologically advanced but inverted society.
Your emails and calls to participate are always welcome. joneshealing@gmail.com
So let's jump in to the true power of gooodness by considering Jan's email.

Youth and Addiction
"Oh, the wayward youth of today," parents of all generations have lamented. "They don't care about any of the old values. They're not serious. They can't even spell correctly!"
I suppose it's always appeared to the older generation that the young folk are going to hell in a handbasked. But maybe this time, with our increasing dire situation on Earth economically, environmentally and spiritually, it would be worth treating the youth issue more seriously.
Is the future in good hands, we could wonder? Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Youth and Addiction.
Well, right off the bat, let me reassure you that I have no intention of falling into the same "our youth are lost" cry that I heard growing up. Seems every generation has pulled their hair out over the lost youth snapping at their heels.
But actually I can see a lot of problems across all generations and cultures that are severely affecting even our ability to survive. Seems to me we've come to the end of the road of our current worldview and something really needs to change about almost everything on Earth.
Brazilian psychoanalyst Dr. Norberto Keppe's work of Analytical Trilogy addresses this fundamental problem head on. In his book, The Universal Man, available through our bookstore on our Trilogy portal describes it this way: "Our modern science has been a great illusion because of its orientation only to the sensorial or positivistic view." As psychologist and educator, Stanley Hall put it, nothing passes through consciousness which does not have its sensorial basis, and this inverted view, Keppe asserts, has caused an enormous impediment to our ability to understand anything.
Cutting philosophy and especially theology out of consideration in science makes our sceince weaker, not stronger, and if we don't address this fundamental problem, which is at heart a problem with our spirituality, with God ... if we don't correct this, we will never manage to develop a liveable society, no matter how many laws and beautiful declarations of human rights we put into place.
Dr. Keppe's science of Analytical Trilogy makes all the correct links again between science, philosophy and theology. And I invite you to explore this with us more. We do interviews every week through Skype, and if you have a question or problem you'd like us to address directly, just get in touch by email at joneshealing@gmail.com. And by the way, I also have another Podcast on Keppe's science called Thinking with Somebody Else's Head that you can check out through iTunes or through my blog.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, we address all this through a listener's - Jen's her name - difficult experience with her son. Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco talks to her today.

Calming Epidemic Hysteria
Millions were attacked in 1918 by a supposed bug that killed people all over the world. And worse, we still don't know all the details about that.
But we can read reports of the virus being brought to North America by returning WW I sailors, and then moving westward by railcar. We can feel a little like Ripley and the crew of Nostromo fighting a seemingly invincible alien when they don't know where the damned thing is hiding.
It's easy to provode human paranoia of the outside world. But the truth is a little more complex.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Calming Epidemic Hysteria.
There is a lot of new work being done here in Brazil related to the influence of our psyches and emotions on our physical health. Actually, Norberto Keppe, the president of the International Society of Analytical Trilogy, the science we base this podcast on, has been working for more than 50 years to determine the true origin of illness. And he's written and broadcast extensively on the subject. I invite you to find out more about his work, and our Analytical Trilogy portal is a good place to start. And of course I'm always available to steer you in the right direction. Just email me.
One scientist Keppe has been studying a lot is Antoine Béchamp, a French scientist, doctor, chemist, toxicologist and esteemed professor ... and a contemporary of Pasteur. And what Keppe is showing us is that Béchamp's scientific work was far, far superior to Pasteur's. You can do your own research on that - the Internet is full of stuff - and you're going to find some surprises about the blatant promotion of Pasteur's Germ Theory because it was a way to sell pharmaceuticals. And Béchamp's genius and superior scientific discoveries? Left in the dust.
The idea that viruses or bacteria invade us from the outside is totally Pasteurian thinking. And there is much in it to be questioned. But this paranoia of the natural world is all around us today, from TV commercials with fanatical housewives desperate to obliterate any sign of offending bacteria in the kitchen and odors in the bathroom, to the plethora of Animal Planet and Nature Channel TV shows using CSI style to reveal the monsters inside us. It's made to seem like parasitic infections and microbial invations are ready to leap from the natural world and burrow their way into our lungs and brains, just like the monster exploded from John Hurt's stomach in Alien.
This is a world of violence, threats, warfare even. Except it's really not. And this is what Keppe's science is addressing - what's really going on when we get sick.
You're invited to join us in the discussion, of course, by email or through Skype, healingthroughconsciousness is our Skype name.
Now, let's try to calm down the epidemic hysteria.

Paranoia in Modern Medicine
From the time we're young, we're taught to protect our lives from nature. Sprays to keep off the bugs, oils to block the harmful rays, potent cleansers to ward off the offending bacteria waiting to take up residence in the bathroom.
Nature is a savage place, we're shown on Cable TV documentaries, where evil waits malefically for us to let down our guard before pouncing. Forget the tomato that ate New York. I'm worried about the wrigglies from hell.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, The Paranoia in Modern Medicine.
We'd like to calm down the paranoia a little today. With England threatening to innoculate 56 million people by the end of the year against the Swine Flu and countries all over the world ramping up the propaganda machine about the latest foreign enemy flying out of pigs and killing innocent women and children, let's take a step back.
We can be forgiven in a sense for believing the medical swindle here. As I've explained in my Thinking with Somebody Else's Head podcast, modern medicine was coerced by the huge medical research foundations of Carnegie and Rockefeller into swallowing Pasteur's Germ Theory of disease hook, line and sinder. How they did that was by influencing medical schools to invest more in research, and then granting research money only to the schools who followed Pasteur's orientation.
Only problem was, Pasteur was dead wrong. Disease doesn't come from outside us at all, from germs and viruses and fungi. Disease is an interior condition. Something goes wrong inside us, as Pasteur's nemesis, Antoine Béchamp proved beautifully in the late 1800s. But the falseness, plagiarism and just plain rotten science of Pasteur didn't faze the intepid misters Carnegie and Rockefeller. No, sir! They weren't going to let a few scientific falsehoods stop them from making a ton of money on the emerging pharmaceutical industry, the medicines of which were developed using the waste products from their massive coal and oil industries. They simply glossed over the totally wrong postulates emerging from Pasteur's Germ Theory - a theory Pasteur himself recanted on his death bed - and cynically manipulated a medical system hungry for their foundation dollars into implanting Pasteur's theory into the American medical system.
If you're interested in reading a fascinating book about this, check out E. Douglas Hume's Béchamp or Pasteur: A Lost Chapter in the History of Biology.
Meanwhile, unknowing of Béchamp's pioneering discoveries, a Brazilian psychoanalyst has been working for 50 years on discovering the origin of human illness, and reaching the same conclusions. In fact, more complete conclusions that Béchamp. His name is Norberto Keppe and his science forms the basis of our Healing Through Consciousness program.
We don't need to look far to see how pervasive has been Pasteur's influence. We need vaccines to protect us from outside germs, and vaccines are linked to autism and ADD. Poisonous pesticides are necessary to ward off insect plagues from outside, with obvious negative health effects. We need a multi-billion dollar drug industry to defend ourselves from bacteria and viruses, and the resultant side effects are so brutal as to lead to some experts suggesting that the #1 cause of death in America today is medical treatment.
So we need to tackle all this, and we will today. But first a reminder that Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco and I are available for your calls and emails with questions or problems you'd like us to address personally. joneshealing@gmail.com is our email. A Truly Tolerant Society
"Hell is the other people," is how Jean-Paul Sartre termed it. And we complicitly agree when we point our fingers at bosses or spouses or even terrorists. But all of this finger pointing, normal as it is, indicates an enormous ignorance of a psychological principle: those problems outside, those things in others that "get" us, have much more to do with ourselves than we like to see. And if we can get a handle on the inner component of our problems, we're moving in the right direction.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, A Truly Tolerant Society.
There's a lot of misunderstanding about tolerance in our society today. The word has come to signify a philosophy of not intruding on anyone else's choices of lifestyle - almost no matter what that implies. We don't speak out about sexual orientation or relationship choices or a myriad of other big or small things because ... well, who are we to judge? And then we pride ourselves on our laudable tolerance. We're so accepting, so modern we think.
But tolerance in Dr. Keppe's science of Analytical Trilogy is a much more profound word. It means a complex blend of seeing the problems we have with others ... in ourselves, while also helping the others in our lives to deal with their shortcomings and become better.
And if that sounds too theoretical, as I suspect it might, let me try to illustrate with an example. Dr. Keppe talks in his book, The Origin of Illness, about a session of analysis in which one of his clients was attending a concert, and a woman began to smoke next to him. He asked her to stop, and when she didn't, he tore the cigarette out of her hand and threw it to the floor.
Now many of us, indoctinated in the current medical wisdom of the dangers of second-hand smoke, might cheer on this intrepid client. Because certainly, smoking in a public place is an imposition that many of us would disagree with. Keppe's analysis would do more though. when he asked his client what he associated the woman's behavior with, he responded, "Effrontery and arrogance."
So, said Dr. Keppe, using the pollution caused by her smoking as an excuse, you got furious at the awareness she gave you of your own confrontational and petulant attitude.
Ouch! Now again, this is delicate because it's not that the other person is right and this client is wrong. But it is important fo rhim to see that he has the same attitude going on and he's not dealing with it inside him and so is ill-equipped to deal with it outside either. So in the end, he can't help the other person or himself.
Well, there are many opportunities to study this in all of Dr. Keppe's books, available on our Trilogy portal. We are also conducting an ABCs of Analytical Trilogy course online and by teleclass, and you can find out much more about all of this at my email.
Today we dive into the subject of tolerance and this process of interiorization with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco, as we consider a long case study supplied by one of our listeners by email.

Finding True Religion
Michael Stipe wrote about sitting in the corner and losing his. Others fight over it. Sometimes whole nations of individuals who never go to church rise up in righteous fury and bombard others because of their religious differences. Something that happened 500 years ago can be enough to set off the desire to clean the land of the "intolerable other."
On the good side, we human beings are fascinated with meaning. We are immersed in spiritual interest even if we never think about it.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Finding True Religion.
There are topics you should never bring up in family dinner conversations, right? Stay away from politics and religion goes the common wisdom. And sometimes sports rivalries, too, in families with a lot of die-hard fans.
But since the dawn of Man, humankind has been conscious of the existence of a Superior Being. This God or Yahweh or Allah or Great Father or any of the other myriad names we give Him is considered in all cultures to be the ultimate expression of goodness, truth and beauty.
I'm not saying that all believe. It's obvious some don't. I'm saying that all races, nationalities, cultures, tribes have rituals and beliefs around the origin of all things and the Creator, who is deemed responsible for all this within which we live.
Spirituality, then, is universal and as natural as breathing. We are, in fact, born theologians.
Now there's a thought for you. We can, of course, push that thought away, make a concerted effort to forget that whoo-whoo stuff and bend our energies towards the more tangible world of making a living and feeding our families. Get our heads out of the clouds and noses to the grindstone, so to speak.
But in those impactful moments of our lives, when we lose a loved one or a new little one comes into our families, or we get sick or are brought back from the brink of death, when we sit outside and watch the stars or hear Louis Armstrong play "Walkin' My Baby Back Home," when we fall in or out of love, in those moments I'm pretty sure most of us are thinking about something more than what font we're going to use on our next resume.
Who we are, where we came from, what's it all about, Alfie, are the questions we all seek to understand better. And Analytical Trilogy, the science we base this Podcast on, is helpful to us in our search. Trilogy meaning, by the way, the union of science, philosophy and theology. We treat all aspects of the human being in our thereapeutic Healing Through Consciousness program with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco, the vice-president of the International Society of Analytical Trilogy and a highly sought after integral psychoanalyst.
Trilogical analysis is available to any who want to understand these deeper questions in this lives, or just get a better frip on what's going on day to day. joneshealing@gmail.com is our email address if I can help you in any way. And you can find out a lot more on our site.

True Emotional Reality
You can't keep 'em locked up inside, we're schooled. Repress them and you'll pay the consequences later, runs most psychological counsel. "The problem was, he kept it all bottled up inside," we say as an explanation of how a school shooter could have exploded in such fury.
Other wisdom says we have to regulate and suppress the painful ones. Or simply exchange the traumatic emotions for their opposites.
Whew ... it's a little confusing.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, the True Emotional Reality.
I remember a conversation many years ago with a dear friend - a talented actress and performer out in Vancouver. We were talking about the attraction we both felt to emotionally intense situations. She and I meant that as related to relationships, and that belief had led both of us to explore rather provocative and adventurous relationship experiences. And I'm sure that's sufficient to give you the picture and maintain some confidence about us. Anything more would surely fall under the "too much information" category anyway.
In our conversation, I remember I was sort of looking for a justification, something I could use as an excuse to make what we were doing okay. And I found it in a somewhat short comment she made mid-way through our dinner discussion. "But if you're feeling like doing it," she said, "How can it be wrong?"
That landed - and I have to confess I followed that like a mantra for a number of years before coming to Brazil and working and studying at the International Society of Analytical Trilogy, Dr. Norberto Keppe's psychoanalytical science institute. Chances are my friend doesn't remember that in any significant way. But I do. And I also remember how differently I began to see that philosophy and the lifestyle I adopted because of it once I started to understand more about Analytical Trilogy and the psychological life.
There are consequences to following our often confusing emotions, it turns out. Consequences because of the metaphysical reality that Keppe has defined clearly for us. Which is this: the essence of ourselves, the essence of all life, is good, true and beautiful. This essence is a provided thing. It's in us and all living beings from the very beginning of our lives. We are not becomings, then, creatures on the way to begin something. We are complete entities from the get-go.
Now, what's all this have to do with emotions, our subject today. Well, our negative emotions (defined as those that are not linked to our good, beautiful and good essence) are not essential in us - meaning they don't exist in and of themselves. They are brought into existence by us when we make choices or do or feel things against our essential nature.
Our feelings, then, need to be understood because if they are pulling us in any other direction than the good, beautiful and true life we should be living, they're going to cause us a problem or three.
This is deep stuff that cuts to our philosophical and spiritual perspective of life - and it's also why Trilogical analysis is so profound and, frankly, miles ahead of the dominant psychological schools in the world today. As you'll hear very quickly in any of our Healing Through Consciousness programs. Every week, I pull Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco from her very busy schedule and sit her down to respond to listener emails and phone calls.
You can participate, too, and receive the benefits as well as helping many others in a sort of "donate your psychopathology for science" kind of way. You can reach me by email to set that up: joneshealing@gmail.com

Man's Spiritual Journey
I remember studying some of the great tragedies of Shakespeare back along the way. How Hamlet was undone by his indecisiveness, how Othello destroyed a beautiful love because of his monumental jealousy. Destroying what is good and beautiful is part of our human neurosis. We see this clearly in some public figures, of course, but it's not much of a stretch to recognize these tendencies in my own self and many others either.
Tackling these tendencies, and getting a real grip on them, is what our program is all about.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Man's Spiritual Journey.
Well, this is a journey Dr. Norberto Keppe's Analytical Trilogy is uniquely equipped to make. We've been exploring that science in a series of teleclasses recently that have been very well received ... teleclasses where my colleagues, Gilbert Gambucci and Susan Berkley and I have been exploring some of the key precepts of Dr. Keppe's work, and looking at how they apply to the day-to-day lives of our participants.
So we have looked at how thoese external events and behaviors that irritate us so are big mirrors of what we do in our lives as well. Hell is not the other people, it turns out, despite Sartre's contention that it was. Our problems are much more within, but we have many mechanisms of escape from that consciousness.
Our program is about helping all of us to have more contact with our rich and beautiful inner life, that has become very pathological and distorted. Because of two things: our individual philosophies of life first of all, and on the other hand, our distorted social structure which we have participated in constructing - either directly through struggling for power, prestige and money and not caring who gets in our way, or by giving our consent to it unspokenly. And both of these areas are in much need of clarification and consciousness.
Well, all this becomes clearer when you embark on your own experience with Analytical Trilogy. Reading Dr. Keppe's books are an immediate way for you to enter this great man's work. Our bookstore is at www.trilogia.ws. And that portal leads you to many great resources.
Gilbert Gambucci has put together a great video blog on the roots of the economic crisis, which, frankly, is essential viewing for all of us. That site is at www.promiseland.info, and you'll find some great clips from Dr. Keppe's TV show.
And embarking on Trilogical analysis, which is available by phone, is another important way to get in touch with the power of Keppe's science. We're trying here in this show to give you a taste of this on our show, and we invite you to participate. We take calls every Monday at 2:00 pm Eastern time by Skype. Trilogical Perspective on Suicide
Death , as we've explored before on Healing Through Consciousness, touches us all. But premature death ... well, that cuts a little closer to the bone. And that death brought about by the victim's own hand, that's perhaps the most difficult of all. And normally it's not a topic we like to talk all that much about.
But don't hit the stop button on your iPod just yet, because like everything seen through the lens of Analytical Trilogy, suicide, too, can receive a new and immensely comforting treatment.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, a Trilogical Perspective on Suicide.
This is a relevant topic. Its rates are increasing in many parts of the world - especially in the so-called developed world. Lucky we are who haven't been touched by this one. My family has seen its share ... most recently my two cousins called their younger brother to join them for lunch. One of the brothers was out in Toronto from Vancouver, and so they had a rare opportunity to share a lunch together. Their younger brother sounded a little vague on the phone, but nothing alarmingly strange. But he never showed for the lunch, and a couple of hours later, his young son found him dead in the garage.
Now I'm not recounting this to sensationalize this traumatic and sad story, or to wallow in the tragedy of it. What I'd really like to do is bring some new psychologically therapeutic perspective to the issue of suicide. Because I know the guilt and trauma that results for the ones left behind. Maybe times, there's strong anger in the family and friends. Everyone trying to answer the big questions: Why did he or she do it? How could they do this to us? And ... could I have done more to prevent it?
There are a lot of resources in our societies that offer help in these terrible moments - books to read, support groups to join. And our remaining friends and family try to console us as best they can. But, having been through it a couple of times now with close friends and family, including my ex-wife who jumped into Lake Ontario a short 6 months after our separation, I know firsthand that this terrible situation is not well understood or treated in our society today.
Freud put forward that suicide was a result of aggression turned inwards. Jung had complex thoughts and ideas about the psyche's journey needing to go through the totality of experience - including indignity and suffering - and therefore suicide was not commendable.
I think both of these psychological ancestors were missing some key perspectives in their views, which I have admittedly grossly simplified here. But I do this for the purposes of moving into what I consider a much more complete view of all the aspects surrounding suicide - especially the consciousness that may be gained by we who are survivors. We can know, too, more of what's going on inside the heads and hearts of those we know who've committed this grave act, but it's not the primary focus of our show today. We want to bring some consolation to the family and friends today.
But there is a wonderful document form the International Society of Analytical Trilogy about the psychological roots of suicide that I'd be happy to send you. Just let me know if you'd like a copy at joneshealing@gmail.com
Now, let's get to this week's callers.

Art and the Healthy Society
Some point to our quantum leap in technological wizadry as proof of our societal development. Others to our more racially and sexually just legislation. Still others to our sophisticated international trade agreements and deregulated business environment.
Well, there are good initiatives in all these areas, obviously. But if we look at the great social movements in history - the Renaissance, Britain's Golden Age, the Belle Epoque, we'll see that they were driven in large part by an explosion in the arts.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Art and the Healthy Society.
When I first moved to Toronto from the west coast of Canada in the mid '90s, I was impressed by the cultural diversity and concern to preserve it that I found in Canada's largest city. From seed saver groups that were protecting the original plants and flowers of the city's neighbourhood parks, to community jazz concerts and street fairs organized neighbourhood by neighbourhood, I discovered a citizenry passionate about maintaining a lifestyle.
When I bought a little house in the Bloor-Bathurst area, my first summer there was marked by a neighbourhood film festival, which consisted of one guy hanging a huge white sheet on the outside wall of his house and his friend across the street projecting classic old films from a projector on his balcony. This was a community spirit that noted urban planning critic, Jane Jacobs, also observed in her withering critique lamenting the death of the great American city. And it’s why she moved to Toronto back in the late ‘60s.
Art, it turns out, is the real engine of a healthy society, as you’ll also see in the urbanization of NY City. It’s the artists who move into a decrepit part of the city and begin its gentrification, until a certain point where it becomes such a hot real estate market that they can’t afford to live there anymore.
The arts, asserts Brazilian psychoanalyst and social scientist, Norberto Keppe, forms the basis of society. We know this to be true because who but the very sickest among us would ever agree to living in a society without it? We can easily imagine surviving in the world without Twitter or Facebook, but without Beethoven’s 9th Symphony or the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper? Impossible.
But we don’t act like this is important actually. Economic hard times hit and the first cuts come to arts programs. Got to keep the money flowing for military spending and drug research, after all. You know, the really important stuff.
This is a psychological inversion in Norberto Keppe’s science – a discovery he consolidated back in the late 1970s that fills a huge missing piece in the understanding of the human psyche. We’ve inverted our values and our societal norms so we are very far from the way we should be. And this generates a lot of stress.
Addressing these issues is what our Healing Through Consciousness radio show is all about, and we’re inviting your participation in helping us develop the tone and focus of the show. joneshealing@gmail.com is our email if you want to talk to us, or you can Skype in – healingthroughconsciousness is our Skype name. We’d love to hear your comments and questions.
This week we didn’t have any calls or questions as it turns out, so I took the opportunity to go a little deeper with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco about a subject Dr. Keppe has been addressing with us recently in our meetings with him – the healthy nature of society, with a big focus on the arts.

Women on the Couch
The individual who begins something worthwhile in life, who makes up his or her mind to do something really good, begins to experience a vast range of possibilities for accomplishment. The more we do, the more we see there is to be done. And to really maximize our potential for achievement, we must have as a foundation a certain amount of understanding of ourselves, especially understanding of our past.
And this means usually seeing how much we could have done, but didn't. Today on Healing Through Consciousness, we'll take a look at one woman's struggles to understand herself through her relationship with her family. And by extension, we'll reach out to offer something for all women particularly, and all men who love them.
Analytical Trilogy , the vast and comprehensive science we base our program on, is like that. Particular, individual analysis that can serve for all of us. Which is why we open our lines every week to take your calls. To help you first of all, of course, but also to help many others who may be dealing with similar issues. You can Skype in - healingthroughconsciousness our Skype name - or send in questions or problems you'd like us to address to our email joneshealing@gmail.com. This is a place you can call and really get help.
Who of us in our quiet moments hasn't taken some time to reflect on ourselves and our place in the universe? What are we doing, and why? Or maybe what aren't we doing that we should, and why not? Aren't these important questions?
My friends Susan Berkley and Gilbert Gambucci and I have been conducting a teleclass series www.trilogiaanalitica.com.br/abccourse.html recently and discussing these things. And noting that all of us have this feeling that we're not living up to what we feel inside. 12 cylinder engines firing on 3 or 4 cylinders is how we might put it.
A Brazilian friend of mine and I were discussing movies yesterday, and he was commenting that he was noticing a weakness in American films these days. That they always put the reasons for problematic behavior in the parents or some sort of familial or societal neglect or abuse.
And this follows the prevailing psychological orientation in America today. But Trilogy goes much deeper to look at the personal philosophy of life and attitudes that drive our experience. This makes a Trilogical analysis session much more profound and personal than we are used to. So conditions we suffer from or fears that affect our decisions are looked at from the point of view of being OUR problem, not a legacy we got from the traumas of the past.
This is good news that doesn't always feel like good news. But in the end it is the only thing that can help us move forward. I remember Dr. Keppe himself describing that in one of his recent books in this way: "If you don't see your involvement in this traumatic situation from the past," he was advising, "You will never be able to move forward in life."
This work we are doing on Healing Through Consciousness and in my other podcast, Thinking with Somebody Else's Head and here in Brazil generally, all has this purpose: to lead the human being to the goodness for which he was created by helping him become conscious of the evil he chooses. And evil can be as simple as bad choices - which do not, as it turns out, happen without a reason, often deeply hidden inside us.
I always invite you to find out more at our Trilogy portal. Lots of great stuff to explore there. And of course, I'm always reachable by email joneshealing@gmail.com.

True Fulfillment and Purpose
"We strut and fret our hour upon the stage," is how Shakespeare put it. A few centuries later, Andy Warhol was downgrading us to fifteen minutes in the spotlight. And taking that to heart, a few of us propelled ourselves into the fast lane. "We're here for a good time, not a long time," was that creed - and a few of that stripe burned out spectacularly like super-novas.
What we do with our lives is something personal. But every once in awhile we need to sit back and take stock. We'll do a little of that today on Healing Through Consciousness.
I'm a fortunate guy. I was born in a good country into a comfortable middle-class background. I had a loving and supportive family, I played on all the sports teams, did well in school, had every advantage - and then some - in my life. I have no doubt there are many, many people suffering in what must seem hopeless situations dreaming of opportunities like that for themselves and their children. If, that is, they have any time for dreaming in their struggles to just stay alive.
And have I taken my priviledged life for granted?
Of course I have.
Have I wasted time and turned my back on opportunities?
You bet.
And in my quiet moments, those times of more humbled reflection, have I wondered, "What's it all about, Alfie?"
Yeah, that, too.
Those are moments of taking stock, and they can be devastating for those who only take time for that late in life, when it's too late to change, or it's too difficult, or they've lost the way too much to ever find their way back. Dante Alighieri wrote about that, didn't he ... and that was way back in medieval times. So this soul searching is nothing new to human experience.
Who of us hasn't looked up at the stars or caught snatches of a favorite song from our youth and found ourselves reflecting on the greater meaning of life, on whatever happened to all that promise we once felt?
This strikes at the essence of our radio program actually, which is a program of consciousness. We record from our studios at the International Society of Analytical Trilogy, and A.T. is a comprehensive therapeutic science that helps us answer those questions about the purpose of our lives. We hold to a revolutionary view here - revolutionary in the sense of being dramatically different from the dominant scientific worldview that we are only the end products of millions of years of evolution from the primal ooze and have no more desire in life than survival.
That view doesn't much cut it in the light of our work. Dr. Norberto Keppe's Analytical Trilogy proves to us another thing: that we possess, right now, all that we need to enjoy the things that we think will only be possible tomorrow. Everything is here now, inside us and in our perfect world. The question is not one of needing to evolve there, but of why, if we have everything, our world and our lives are still in such a precarious state. This is a matter of us doig something against what is already perfectly created, not one of us not having arrived yet.
We have it all, but we deny it. And by understanding how we deny it we can begin to return to it. We can begin to see our way through the dark wood.
Every week, I sit down with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco, vice-president of the International Society of Analytical Trilogy, and we talk about this. And we invite your participation at joneshealing@gmail.com. You'll find much here to clarify your troubles and make your soul sing.
Today, a couple of young callers join us to consider their lives, especially in relation to true fulfillment.

Paranoia Towards Affection
Paranoia Towards Affection
We are trying in our program to give people a place to call where they can really get help. For health problems, for how to cope with economic difficulties, for how to untangle the tangled webs we weave in our relationships.
The day-to-day difficulties that face us all. Now there can be some sense brought to them through the Brazilian school of Analytical Trilogy. A true psychotherapy that goes deep to the roots of what’s gone wrong, and that offers us a way out of the darkness.
We record our program every Monday at 2:00 pm Eastern time, when Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco and I are available for your phone calls. This is a therapeutic show, so it there’s anything that comes up as you’re listening, something you’d like clarified or some specific issue you’d like us to address, we’re available to do that. I encourage you to take advantage of this resource … Dr. Pacheco’s grasp of psychoanalysis is broad, and she’s an extremely generous and affectionate therapist with a knack for going to the heart of the problem. Her perspective is very clarifying and illuminating.
So, two ways to join us … by email at joneshealing@gmail.com and by Skype. Healingthroughconsciousness is our Skype name. Drop me a line if you’re interested in calling us.
Last week, we dealt with the problems of Mr. X, as we affectionately called him. He wrote us a long email about an ex-girlfriend he couldn’t stop thinking about. Every new woman was measured against her standard, and it was becoming harder to be with other women.
Claudia broached a couple of therapeutic perspective on our program last week, which is available through our archives at www.healingthroughconsciousness.com. Making Sense of Relationships was the program name and it’s highly therapeutic and refreshing. It’s also available as a Podcast through iTunes … Healing Through Consciousness the Podcast name.
Well, Mr. X. wrote us back. He loved what we did, and wanted to add some more. So, we got him online with us a couple of days ago. Anthony’s his name, and here’s how it all came together.

Making Sense of Relationships
Making Sense of Relationships
The flutter in our stomachs at love's first blush. The flushed cheeks. The sleepless nights. And the mixture of emotions at its passing, too. This we also know.
Our relationships mark us inside like our accomplishments highlight the pages of our resumes. The journeys in and out of love weave through our songs and poetry. One minute we're itchin' like a man on a fuzzy tree, the next, love's labor is lost. Ah, the courses of love never do run smooth.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Making Sense of Relationships.
Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco and I are trying to do something unprecedented on this show ... and that's offer help for all manner of difficulties that face us in our hectic, 21st century world, rife as it is with challenges to our emotional well-being.
We've got so many assaults of that from outside and in that it's hard to know where to turn to really get an understanding of it all. And that's where our program comes in. We're broadcasting from the headquarters of the most advanced psychology on the planet today, the International Society of Analytical Trilogy - something that will become evident immediately as you listen to an analysis of any theme conducted by Dr. Pacheco. Her vast experience and the comprehensive nature of the science of Analytical Trilogy allow her to go much deeper into our problems than we normally hear. And this helps her offer real perspectives on what's really going on behind the situation. And that shines a light on the way through the thing, too.
Our idea on this show is to have it full of your input through emails and phone calls to us. We've set it up to be as interactive as possible. We'd like you to bring the issues from your real experience and we'll treat them in our program. By email, we can be reached at joneshealing@gmail.com, and phone calls to us on Skype are at our Skype name, healingthroughconsciousness. We'll try to help you get to the bottom of whatever you want to get to the bottom of. All the information about how to participate is also on our site www.healingthroughconsciousness.com.
Today, Dr. Pacheco and I will tackle the murky and problematic, but still beautiful and transcendant, area of relationships, as a follow up to our last program on Death and Transcendence. I sat down this week to talk again with one of the people I most like to listen to, Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco.

Death and Transcendence
Death and Transcendence
There's a famous quotation from the Scriptures that no one from my generation could have missed even if they regularly played hooky from Sunday School. "For everything, there is a season. A time to be born, a time to die."
Number 1 for the Byrds in 1965.
It talked of the inevitability of it all. Young, old, rich, poor, fat, thin, bald, hairy, super model or superintendent ... we all will eventually meet our Maker.
Today on Healing Through Consciousness, Death and Transcendence. I'm Richard Lloyd Jones. And just to reassure you, there's a heavy portion of transcendence and even hope in what is normally a subject non-grata in most conversations.
Our radio program is coming to you by Podcast now ... our foray into Internet Radio on hold for a number of reasons, principally because of the nature of the consumption of information these days. People like you want to be free to download and listen at your leisure, in iPods and mp3 player, so listening to live radio is not the first option for people.
When I first conceived the idea of doing a radio program with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco (insert link: http://www.trilogiaanalitica.com.br/site_new/claudia_pacheco_ingles.html) from the International Society of Analytical Trilogy (insert link: http://www.trilogiaanalitica.com.br/site_new/sita_ingles.html), my idea was to offer a safe place where people could call and really get help. People calling in and getting their difficulties and problems treated was my idea. I wanted like a call-in radio psychology show, only with the most advanced psychology on the planet being used to provide therapy and assistance.
So now, with a Podcast, that's more difficult. But I'd still like to bring that aspect to our show. So I've set up a special email address to take your questions and concerns - joneshealing@gmail.com (insert link: mailto:joneshealing@gmail.com)
And I'm also available on Skype to tape questions live from you for our program ... healingthroughconsciousness is our Skype name - and I would like to invite you to contact me if you want something specific to be addressed. You'll find much wisdom and therapeutic value to analysis by Analytical Trilogy (insert link: http://www.trilogiaanalitica.com.br/site_new/analytical_trilogy.html).
Our program today is a great example, because how can you be uplifting talking about death? And yet, many have had profound things to say about the subject. "How terrible when I come to die to find out I had not lived," said Thoreau. "Death is not the greatest loss. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live," said Norman Cousins.
We were prompted to enter the subject from a heartfelt email we received. And the conversation that transpired with Dr. Claudia Bernhardt Pacheco was illuminating and even exciting.

Pathology of Power (E3 April 2, 2009)
We discuss the pathology of power and how this sickness is shaping our society.
What passes for psychological analysis in our world today is most often not psychological at all. We see a lot of biological treatment of difficulties - "Oh, you're feeling a little depressed? The chemicals in your brain must be out of whack" or - "You've got a weight problem? This stomach reduction surgery will fix you right up." Or the analysis reverts to social issues - you were traumatized by your music teacher when you were 8, you were humiliated for wetting the bed. All of this is no news for you if you've been at all tuned in to the normal psychological interpretations that circulate to explain the myriad problems we face in our stressful modern world. Society tends to see the human being as victimized by something outside of his responsibility.
Norberto Keppe's work of Analytical Trilogy is nothing like that. In fact, we could say that he's light years ahead in his psychological view because his therapy is truly psychological. Analytical Trilogy focusses the source of our problems right back inside us. Smack dab back to the individual's attitudes and philosophy of life. To how we see the world - not because of our social conditioning only, but because of our often unconscious decisions about how life is and how things work.
But Keppe also acknowledges that these individual psychological issues are also reflected out into our society at large, because it is still individuals that inhabit the positions of influence that lead to our current societal reality. Here's how Keppe himself describes the situation, taken from his marvelous book, Liberation of the People: The Pathology of Power (available at http://www.trilogia.ws/books/)
It is truly a pity to see what is happening to mankind today, entrapped as it is in a totally inverted social structure, yet capable of freeing itself from this system immediately and achieving happiness. I am putting all of my efforts into making this inversion clear. Even so, each of you who read this book will first need to use your will to understand it fully and then fight to transform society. (Editor's note: there is a great discussion of the human will here: http://somebodyelseshead.wordpress.com/2 009/02/09/liberating-ourselves-from-our- free-will/. Indeed, our happiness depends on the attitude we take to free ourselves from this tremendous deception into which we have been plunged. If each one of us begins to conscientize this situation, that is, if we analyze it, understand it, and accept full consciousness of it, then in a very short time we will be living in a totally different environment, that real paradise foreseen by many highly spiritualized people.
I would say that all of our present-day problems can be reduced to one: the way in which social and economic power is being used. Formerly, it was a question of the power of the bourgeoisie, the feudal lords or the clergy (in the Middle Ages). Indeed, every person who gains unlimited power feeds his most serious pathological fantasy to such a point that he becomes extremely dangerous to himself and especially to others.
This is provocative and scientific stuff, and we'll explore that in more depth in coming programs. Stay tuned.
