Hati-hatilah kalau ingin berkencan dengan seseorang, apalagi jika orang itu tidak Anda kenal. Tak ada yang tahu apa yang akan Anda hadapi dalam kencan buta seperti ini. June Havens (Cameron Diaz) juga tidak pernah tahu kalau kencannya kali ini membawanya ke sebuah petualangan yang tak akan pernah ia lupakan seumur hidupnya.


Secara tak sengaja, June bertemu Roy Miller (Tom Cruise) saat ia sedang berada di bandara. Pertemuan ini berlanjut saat June dan Roy berada dalam pesawat yang sama. Tanpa sepengetahuan June, Roy ternyata adalah seorang agen rahasia. June tak yakin Roy jujur tapi daya tarik Roy membuat June seolah tak berdaya.


Sebelum June menyadari apa yang terjadi, tiba-tiba saja ia sudah terlibat petualangan Roy melindungi hasil temuan seorang ilmuwan yang konon akan menjadi sumber energi alternatif yang mampu mengubah dunia. Kalau sumber energi alternatif ini jatuh ke tangan orang yang salah maka bisa dipastikan seluruh dunia akan dibuat kacau oleh orang ini.


Jarang ada yang bisa memadukan genre action dan comedy dalam satu film dan berhasil membuat sebuah tontonan yang pas tanpa harus terlalu 'memihak' pada salah satu genre dan KNIGHT AND DAY ini adalah salah satunya. Film ini mungkin bukan sebuah tontonan yang 'sempurna' tapi dari formula yang ditawarkan, paling tidak durasi sepanjang 105 menit ini tak terasa jadi membosankan.


Alur kisahnya memang sederhana. Seperti kebanyakan film bergenre spionase, KNIGHT AND DAY ini juga menawarkan tokoh protagonis yang nyaris sempurna, misi menyelamatkan dunia, dan tentu saja sedikit kisah asmara sebagai bumbu pemanis. Sebenarnya banyak celah pada alur kisah yang ditawarkan oleh naskah Patrick O'Neill ini tapi sepertinya James Mangold, sang sutradara, cukup cerdik untuk mengakalinya dengan membuat tokoh June tak sadarkan diri agar adegan bisa beralih tanpa ada kesulitan.


Memang kalau dipikir film ini hanyalah serangkaian adegan yang dirangkai oleh sebuah plot yang tipis dan penonton di ajak berjalan-jalan dari satu lokasi ke lokasi yang lain. Tapi tentu saja jalan-jalan ini tak akan menarik kalau pemandunya tak piawai merangkai kata dan dalam urusan ini, chemistry antara Tom Cruise dan Cameron Diazlah yang jadi kuncinya.

Be careful if you want a date with someone, especially if the person you barely know. Nobody knows what you will face in the blind date like this. June Havens (Cameron Diaz) also never know if a date this time took him to an adventure he'll never forget for the rest of his life.


By accident, June met Roy Miller (Tom Cruise) as he was in the airport. This meeting continues during June and Roy are in the same plane. Unbeknownst to June, Roy was in fact a secret agent. June, but honestly not sure Roy Roy attractiveness make June as helpless.


Before June, realized what was happening, all of a sudden he's involved adventure Roy protecting the findings of a scientist who reportedly will be an alternative energy source that could change the world. If these alternative energy sources fall into the wrong hands then we can be sure the whole world will be made chaotic by this person.


Rarely one can combine action and comedy genres in one film and managed to create a spectacle that fit without having too 'pro' on one genre, and KNIGHT AND DAY this is one of them. This movie might not be a spectacle of the 'perfect' but from the formula offered, at least 105 minutes of this long duration does not seem so boring.


Chronology of the story is simple. Like most of the espionage genre films, KNIGHT AND DAY It also offers an almost perfect protagonist, a mission to save the world, and of course a little romance as a sweetener flavor. Actually a lot of gaps in the flow of the story offered by Patrick O'Neill script this but it looks like James Mangold, the director, was smart enough to figure June mengakalinya by making the unconscious to the scene can be switched without any trouble.


Indeed if you think about this movie is a series of scenes put together by a thin plot and the audience were invited to walk from one location to another. But of course these roads will not be attractive if the guide was not good at stringing words and in this business, chemistry between Tom Cruise and Cameron Diazlah are so key.

'United Six' is the story of six girls, living in Bangkok. They are going through a tough phase in their lives. Their dreams have shattered, their aspirations crushed. One of the girls, Jia, who was fired from the bank for refusing to sleep with her boss, convinces the others and leads them.

They rent a bakery adjacent to the bank and start digging a tunnel which would lead them to the strong room of the bank. They start digging and soon find that it's not as easy as it seemed like. However, they continue in their mission and one by one, on one pretext or the other, the girls start getting jittery. Jia continues to motivate them but finds it getting more and more difficult with every passing hour. The meekest girl, Maddy, keeps talking negatively and attracts the ire from Jia.

As time flies by, everybody loses their zeal and force Jia to call off the mission as they know that they don't have any mental and physical energy left. Jia tries hard but is not able to convince the others to pursue the mission. And they decide to call it a quit.

Next morning they get the shock of their life when they see the news on TV that the bank got robbed in the night and there is info that six girls are involved in the mission.
