Dear Dr. Young, Shelley Young, and Dr. Patrick,
I wanted and needed to tell you how much of an impact the pH Miracle Diet and living an alkalarian lifestyle has had on my life.
I was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus in 1984 when I was only 15 years old. To "help" with the arthritis, high blood pressure, face rash, spleen/platelet and kidney problems doctors put me on over 25 different prescriptions of steroids, immune blockers and anti-malarial drugs. I took Prednisone for almost 15 years. I gained more and more weight and just got sicker and sicker. Sometimes the drugs gave me worse side effects than the actual problem, which lead me to take more drugs. Just some of the side-effects were weight gain, delusions, drug-induced hepatitis, depression, and sleeping pill dependency. In my short 41 year life, I've been on prescriptions for longer than I've been off them.
Last summer in mid-August (2008), I came across The pH Miracle for Weight Loss by Dr. Robert and Shelley Young, read it and started it right away. In the first week I lost 20 pounds and felt more energy already. I hit plateaus where I didn't lose weight, but I kept going back to eating alkaline foods because when I did I felt much better, had less pain and no face rash.
To date (about 7 months) I have lost 80 pounds, and my goal is 20 more. I faithfully weigh myself each morning, and also keep track of what I ate the day before. Yesterday I counted all my "alkaline" days and my "non-alkaline days" (also known as "the day I ate something(s) acidic) - and I've lost the 80 pounds in only 120 "alkaline days" - not too bad I think. But more importantly, I have been able to stop taking ALL prescriptions and I don't even need tylenol or any other pain killers for pain - because I have none! (...well, as long as I'm eating alkaline foods.... but if I eat acidic foods I start feeling it within an hour!)
This is pretty amazing to me because my rheumatologist stated that I would be on Plaquenil for the rest of my life. When I went to see her last month (she hadn't seen me since October), she was astonished with my perfect blood work and organ tests, perfect blood pressure and perfect overall health. She actually proclaimed me "A WALKING MIRACLE" ... and I said ..."No....it's the pH Miracle!"
I love this new alkaline world that has been opened to me - and I share it with anyone that is willing to listen.
There are no words I can think of to express my respect and gratitude for Dr. Robert Young for his tremendous dedication and invaluable research, to Shelley Young for her vibrancy and awesome recipes, and to Dr. Patrick Sobota for his knowledge, sense of humor, and saintly patience (....for not being annoyed at all my silly questions).

What a wonderful message!
I have a serious heart condition and my wife has a multitude of chronic illnesses. I have been at the point where I think, "I might as well drink the coffee and cream and eat the donuts because I can't afford to do the pH diet anyway. Well this little message has encouraged me to get started anyway. At least I can stop eating a lot of the bad stuff and eat as much of the good stuff as I can. Without beginning we can't accomplish anything. And I just love the quote from Goethe.
Today is step number one. No cream in my coffee. Next week. No coffee and no dairy at all. and so on. It feels quite empowering just knowing I've begun the journey. And I will keep my eyes on the prize. Excellent health.

Happy that my doctor pronounced my blood pressure to be normal
when I went to see him yesterday.
It was such a relief that my BP measured normal I was quite worried. It was quite high last time I had it checked.Since the past 3 years I have had this problem.Stress brought it on. I can keep it down with diet control.
I take black sesame seeds soaked overnight - with water first thing in the morning.Its good for cholesterol too.Also have 3 glasses of water first thing in the morning. And in my food, whatever I am cooking I tip in a teaspoonful of roasted flaxseed.Those are good for all kinds of things.

Chocolate, Acai, Tea Leaves, Cola Nut, Cocao and Cocoa Mulch Can KILL!
Emails about Cocoa Mulch have been circulating around the Internet since 2003, and more frequently since 2007 when Calypso, a three year old Labrador, had a seizure and dropped dead on a walk after ingesting the garden mulch made from cacao bean shells. The same thing is happening to humans!
Hershey’s, the manufacturer of Cocoa Mulch, states that “50% of the dogs that eat Cocoa Mulch can suffer physical harm to a variety of degrees…98% of all dogs won’t eat it.”
Dr. Robert O. Unfortunately many of these acidic foods are being sold as health foods for the body as antioxidants. Since there are many other brands of garden mulch, if you have a dog, the best choice to another brand that is free of cocoa.
Easter is a few weeks away and chocolate will grow in abundance in the form of eggs, carrots, and rabbits, so take extra care and keep these tempting treats out of the reach of your animals and especially your children!
In the worse case scenario, here is some information that will help determine what action should be taken if your dog or cat or child eats a bunny ear. The higher the cocoa content the more toxic it becomes.
• 1 ounce of Milk Chocolate is toxic per 1 pound of body weight
• 1 ounce of Semisweet Chocolate is toxic per 3 pounds of body weight
• 1 ounce of Baker’s Chocolate is toxic per 9 pounds of body weight
For example, 2 ounces of Baker’s Chocolate can put your 15 pound dog or baby at great risk, while 2 ounces of Milk Chocolate will usually cause simple digestive problems.

These Are Acidic Times of Stress, Strokes, Heart Attacks and Cancer
It turns out that there may be a very simple and very inexpensive way to reduce (often dramatically) your risk for a stroke, heart attack and cancer - and much more. Studies of potassium bicarbonate supplements, like pHour salts in humans report:

As we all know, the risk of many troublesome-even deadly-health problems can be reduced with an alkaline lifestyle and diet and increased with an acidic lifestyle and diet.
Our lifestyle and diet has changed radically from what our ancestors ate 1000's of years ago, and not all of these changes have been for the good. Our modern lifestyle and diets are likely to contain far less sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium - less base forming nutrients than those enjoyed by our ancestors who lived up to 1000 years.
Fortunately, an inexpensive sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium bicarbonate dietary supplement called pHour salts can help you to eat more like our ancestors.
One of the most important differences in our ancestors living longer was that there was far more potassium (from fruits and vegetables) and no ingestion of acid-forming foods from animal flesh.
The change to a low potassium, high acid-forming content diet has had a profound impact on many aspects of wellness and aging, including those listed above.
According to one study,1 "the ancient human potassium intake averaged 400 ± 125 mEq/d [about 15 grams per day!], which exceeds the NHANES III [Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 1988-1994] age-grouped averages (~60-85 mEq/d) [2.3-3.3 grams/d] by factors greater than 4."
This amount also "exceeds the 120 mEq/d set for adequate intake by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine in 2004 and 2006 and the same value, 120 mEq/d recommended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2005 [4.7 grams per day]."1
Note that the potassium content of the average American adult diet is only 50% to 70% of the amount recommended. This means that most American diets are officially deficient in alkaline mineral salts, especially potassium. Worse yet, the official RDA is too low.
The Institute of Medicine also reported that ". . . Fruits and vegetables, particularly leafy greens, vine fruit [aka, vegetable fruit, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, and pumpkin] and root vegetables, are good sources of potassium and bicarbonate precursors. Although meat, milk and cereal products contain potassium, they do not contain enough bicarbonate precursors to balance their acid-forming precursors, such as sulfur-containing amino acids."
The results of a high net-acid producing diet include1 increased urinary calcium excretion, increased bone resorption markers (indicative of bone loss), and increased urinary nitrogen excretion (negative nitrogen balance as occurs with loss of lean body mass).
Reduction of Stroke Risk by Potassium
What is worse then a heart attack? A stroke!
The British Medical Journal on Feb. 20th, 2009 stated, "Making simple changes to your lifestyle could dramatically decrease your risk of having a stroke, one of the leading causes of death and illness across the world." (2)
British researchers found people who lead unhealthy lifestyles are more than twice as likely to suffer a stroke than those who eat and drink sensibly, do not smoke and exercise regularly.
More than 20,000 men and women between the ages of 40 and 79 completed detailed health and lifestyle questionnaires and underwent a health examination by trained nurses. Participants scored one point for each of four healthy behaviors: not currently smoking, not physically inactive, moderate alcohol intake and blood vitamin C levels that indicated consuming at least five servings of fruits or vegetables a day (emphasis added).
Participants could have a score between zero and four, with a higher score indicating more protective behavior. They were then followed for an average of 11.5 years, and strokes were recorded using death certificates and hospital discharge data.
After adjusting for other factors that could have affected the results, the researchers said the risk of stroke was 2.3 times greater in those with a score of zero compared to those with a score of four. They also discovered that the risk of stroke increased with every point decrease in health behavior score. In other words, those with a score of two were 1.5 times more likely to have a stroke than those with a score of four.
The researchers said they hope their results will show people that small differences in lifestyle may have substantial potential impacts on stroke risk.
One paper reported on the potassium dietary intake (estimated from a 24 hour recall of dietary foods) versus occurrence of stroke during a 12-year follow-up of 356 men and 503 women who were 50 to 79 years old at baseline and without pre-existing history of heart attack, heart failure, or stroke. (3)
The results showed that the relative risks of stroke-associated mortality in the lowest tertile (third) of potassium intake, as compared with that in the top two tertiles combined, were 2.6 (p=0.16) in men and 4.8 (p=0.01) in women. The effect was partially independent of known cardiovascular risk factors, such as age, sex, blood pressure, blood cholesterol levels, obesity, fasting blood glucose levels, and cigarette smoking.
Another study(4) of 5,600 men and women older than 65 years and who were free of strokes, followed for 4 to 8 years, reported that a lower serum potassium level was associated with an increased relative risk of stroke (RR:1.5, p<0.005); a lower serum potassium level in those taking diuretics (presumably for high blood pressure) was associated with an even greater increased risk of stroke (RR:2.5, p<0.0001).
In fact, "for each SD [standard deviation] decrease in serum potassium in a diuretic user, there was a 38% increase in the RR (relative risk] for stroke. For each SD decrease in dietary potassium in a nondiuretic user, there was an 18% increase in the RR for stroke." (4)
The pH Miracle alkaline diet favors "Lean Tissue Mass" in Older Adult Humans
Chronic metabolic acidosis can result from eating a diet whose metabolism yields acids (such as uric, phosphoric, nitric and sulfuric acid) in excess of bases (e.g., bicarbonate).
In fact, this type of diet is typically consumed by populations of industrially developed (Westernized) countries, where animal foods rich in acid (enzymes) precursors are consumed disproportionally to that of plant foods rich in base precursors. (6)
One result of chronic metabolic acidosis is an acceleration in the protein degradation of skeletal muscle; moreover, diet-dependent metabolic acidosis tends to increase in severity with age. (6)
One recent study (7) reported that increased potassium urinary excretion (derived from alkaline potassium salts found in dietary fruits and vegetables) was associated with increased lean body mass in 384 men and women 65 or older who participated in a calcium and vitamin D versus placebo study of osteoporosis.
The authors concluded that ". . . subjects with a potassium intake of 134 mmol/d [5.2 grams/d] can expect to have 1.64 kg [3.6 lbs] more lean tissue mass than subjects with half that potassium intake." (7)
In a separate paper,(7) researchers studying the effect of an oral potassium bicarbonate supplement (60-120 mmol/day for 18 days) in 14 healthy postmenopausal women found that the supplements reduced urinary nitrogen excretion, an indicator of preserved lean body mass.
The authors concluded that "[t]he magnitude of the KHCO3 [potassium bicarbonate]-induced nitrogen sparing effect is potentially sufficient to both prevent continuing age-related loss of muscle mass and restore previously accrued deficits."
The amount of potassium bicarbonate supplement used in this study was 6 to 12 grams per day, which supplied 2.34 to 4.68 grams of potassium per day.
Decreased Calcium Excretion Helps Protect Bones
In another paper, (8) the effect of potassium bicarbonate on calcium excretion in postmenopausal women was reported.
The authors note that potassium bicarbonate has been shown to potently reduce urine calcium excretion in adult humans, including patients with hypertension or calcium urolithiasis, and postmenopausal women.
As the authors note, "[t]he [Western] diet-induced low-grade metabolic acidosis that persists further contributes to the external losses of calcium by direct impairment of renal [kidney] calcium reabsorptive efficiency, a characteristic of metabolic acidosis."
They, therefore, studied the effect of 30, 60, or 90 mmol/d potassium bicarbonate treatment in 170 postmenopausal women for up to 36 months. (3, 6, or 9 grams per day of potassium bicarbonate supplying 1.17, 2.34, or 3.51 grams per day of potassium, respectively.)
All doses of potassium bicarbonate reduced urinary calcium excretion throughout the study. Interestingly, in the 28% of the subjects that had high baseline urinary calcium excretion, 60 mmol/day of potassium bicarbonate decreased the urinary calcium excretion by an amount that, over a 36 month period, would accumulate up to 55,845 mg of calcium or nearly 5% of bone calcium content.(8)
Potassium is Vasoactive, Increasing Blood Flow, Helping Regulate Blood Pressure
It has been reported that potassium depletion in normal humans increases blood pressure, as well as reducing the ability to deal with an acute sodium load and sodium retention. (9)
In borderline hypertensives (140/90), "a low-potassium diet (16 mmol/day) for 10 days increases systolic and diastolic pressures by 7 and 6 mmHg, respectively, relative to 10 days on a high-potassium diet (96 mmol/day)."8 Indeed, potassium supplementation lowers blood pressure in established hypertension.
"Potassium is vasoactive; when infused into the arterial supply of a vascular bed, blood flow increases." (9) Potassium release is regulated by the Na+-K+-ATPase [sodium-potassium-ATPase) enzyme in the plasma membrane.
"Potassium increases the uptake of norepinephrine [aka noradrenaline] into the sympathetic nerve terminals, leaving less in the [synaptic] cleft. This also promotes relaxation of the vascular smooth muscle and increases blood flow." In this way, potassium acts importantly to regulate the excitatory effects of norepinephrine.
In one study,(10) reduced dietary potassium reversibly enhanced vasopressor (vascular contraction, which induces increased blood pressure) response to stress in African Americans. As noted in the paper, the blood pressure of normotensive blacks is much more likely to be salt sensitive than that of normotensive whites:
"In normotensive [but salt sensitive] blacks but not whites [normotensive and not salt sensitive], a marginally reduced dietary intake of potassium reversibly enhances adrenergically mediated vasopressor responsiveness to stress."
How to Take Mineral Salts Including Potassium Bicarbonate
You can easily eat more like Adam and Eve by taking 1 scoop (approximately 1500 mg potassium) or two to three capsules, each capsule containing 1.35 grams of potassium bicarbonate (13.5 meq or 527 mg potassium) three to four times per day.
If you are an adult eating a typical American diet, you will need approximately 3 to 4 scoops or 12 capsules per day of pHour salts, containing potassium bicarbonate to increase your total potassium intake for increased alkalinity. Your increased alkalinity can be measured by peeing on a strip of pHydrion paper. The pH of your urine should be at least 7.2 for ideal health and energy. I suggest starting with one scoop or one capsule per day, and in a week work up to 3 to 4 scoops or 12 capsules per day.
IMPORTANT: Take the capsule(s) by themselves on an empty stomach and wash them down with at least a full glass (8-10 oz) of warm electron-rich alkaline body temperature water. (If you take it with food, the increased alkalinity will interact with the stomach acid and neutralize the toxic hydrochloric acid. This is a good thing but may result in some burping.)
Our intestines and brains are designed to handle situations of emergency stress with a "fight or flight" mechanism that pumps out lots of electrons (with an acidic waste product of noradrenaline - the brain's version of adrenaline which), so you have the energy and alertness to either spear the saber-tooth tiger or run up a tree away from it.
Continuous stress is having the flight or flight system always on, continually pumping out excess electrons and increased acidic noradrenaline, leading to hypertension and possible stroke. Potassium, in sufficient amounts, will pump the acidic waste product of noradrenaline back into the vesicles where it can be eliminated through urination.
Interestingly, the more stress you are under, the more sensitive you tend to be to potassium's blood pressure-lowering effects. And aren't we all under continual acidic stress these days?

Vitamin D Helps To Prevent Cancerous Breasts and Tumor Formation
of developing cancerous breasts has been implicated
for a long time, but its clinical relevance had not
yet been proven. Sascha Abbas and colleagues from
the working group headed by Dr. Jenny Chang-Claude
at the German Cancer Research Center (Deutsches
Krebsforschungszentrum, DKFZ), collaborating
with researchers of the University Hospitals
in Hamburg-Eppendorf, have now obtained clear
results:
While previous studies had concentrated chiefly
on nutritional vitamin D, the researchers have
now investigated the complete vitamin D status.
To this end, they studied 25-hydroxyvitamin D
(25(OH)D) as a marker for both endogenous
vitamin D and vitamin D from food intake.
The result of the study involving 1,394 cancerous
breast patients and an equal number of healthy
women after menopause was surprisingly clear:
Women with a very low blood level of 25(OH)D have
a considerably increased risk for cancerous breasts.
The effect was found to be strongest in women who
were not taking acidic cancerous causing hormones
for relief of menopausal symptoms. However, the
authors note that, in this retrospective study,
diagnosis-related factors such as chemotherapy or
lack of sunlight after prolonged hospital stays
might have contributed to low vitamin levels of
breast cancer patients.
In addition, the investigators focused on the
vitamin D receptor. The gene of this receptor is
found in several variants known as polymorphisms.
The research team of the DKFZ and Eppendorf
Hospitals investigated the effect of four of
these polymorphisms on the risk of developing
cancerous breasts. They found out that carriers
of the Taql polymorphism have a slightly increased
risk of cancerous acidic tumors that carry receptors
for the female acidic sex hormone estrogen on their
surface. No effects on the overall breast cancer
risk were found. A possible explanation offered
by the authors is that vitamin D can exert its
cancerous-preventing effect by counteracting the
growth-promoting effect of the acidic estrogens.
Besides its cancerous-preventing influence with
effects on cell growth, cell differentiation and
programmed cell death (apoptosis), vitamin D
regulates, above all, the calcium metabolism in
our body. Foods that are particularly rich in
vitamin D include cod liver oil, green fruits
and veggies. However, the largest portion of
vitamin D is produced by our own body with the
aid of sunlight.

The Importance of Vitamin D3 In The Prevention and Healing of Bone Fractures
"The anti-fracture benefits of vitamin D have been questioned by several recent trials, leading to uncertainty among patients and physicians regarding recommendations for vitamin D supplementation," the authors write as background information in the article. "Factors that may obscure a benefit of vitamin D are low adherence to treatment, low dose of vitamin D or the use of less potent ergocalciferol (vitamin D2)."
Heike A. Bischoff-Ferrari, Dr.P.H., of the University of Zurich, University Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland, and colleagues performed a meta-analysis on 12 previously published clinical trials of oral vitamin D supplements among adults age 65 or older. These double-blind randomized controlled trials involved 42,279 participants (average age 78) and looked at non-vertebral (non-spinal) fractures, including eight trials of 40,886 participants specifically studying hip fractures.
When the results of the trials were pooled, vitamin D supplements decreased the risk of non-vertebral fractures by 14 percent and of hip fractures by 9 percent. The authors then pooled the results of only the nine trials in which participants received doses of more than 400 international units per day. At this dosage, vitamin D supplements reduced non-vertebral fractures by 20 percent and hip fractures by 18 percent. Doses of 400 international units per day or lower did not reduce the risk of either fracture type. A greater reduction in risk was also seen among trial participants whose blood levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (a commonly used measure of blood vitamin D levels) achieved a greater increase.
Among individuals taking high doses of vitamin D, additional calcium did not appear to have any further protective effect against fractures. "Physiologically, the calcium-sparing effect of vitamin D may explain why we did not see an additional benefit of calcium supplementation at a higher dose of vitamin D," the authors write.
"The greater fracture reduction with a higher received dose or higher achieved 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels for both any non-vertebral fractures and hip fractures suggests that higher doses of vitamin D should be explored in future research to optimize anti-fracture efficacy," they conclude. "Also, it is possible that greater benefits may be achieved with earlier initiation of vitamin D supplementation and longer duration of use. Our results do not support use of low-dose vitamin D with or without calcium in the prevention of fractures among older individuals."
According to Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at the pH Miracle Living Center, in Valley Center, California, "I have found significant healing in non-cancerous and cancerous vertebral fractures and hip fractures when supplementing an alkaline diet with 2000 international units of Vitamin D3."

Further Observations on WTC1 Stairwell B
2. Does the Revealed “Upward Wind” During “Collapse” Prove the Final “Cleaner Nuke”?

Pasquale Buzzelli is a structural engineer who was working for the Port Authority in the North Tower on 9/11. Genelle Guzman [McMillan is added now—due to subsequent marriage] was a co-worker of Buzzelli’s at that time. Both would be among only 20 alleged survivors of the “collapse” of the two towers. Curiously all 20 were in the North Tower. Buzzelli would become famous for claims that he, in effect, “surfed” down 22 floors during “collapse” as described here.
He was found ATOP the rubble pile, and taken to safety, at least three hours after the “collapse.” Guzman-McMillan, who started out with Buzzelli on the 64th floor, would become famous as the last person rescued alive from beneath the rubble, about 24 hours after the “collapse.”
However, Guzman-McMillan’s description of events leads to the collapse of credibility of Buzzelli. As archived here, Guzman-McMillan states that she was on the 13th—not 22nd—floor just before the “Collapse” began; and that Buzzelli was BELOW her. She states that Buzzelli was below her as he led a group of people (including her) down. She does not know, at that point in time, how far below her he was. So this could be but half a flight of stairs, or several flights. But Buzzelli, and his fellow claimants thus lose AT LEAST nine flights of “collapse surfing” from Guzman-McMillan’s account. Also please consider the possible implications in the differences in how they were found. Guzman-McMillan was buried BENEATH some rubble, while Buzzelli was ATOP the rubble pile. Curiously Guzman-McMillan also relates pressure from the Port Authority on its reported orders to Tower workers to stay put after the “plane hits.” The article above states, “On instructions from the Port Authority, McMillan declines to discuss why she stayed [initially].”
Guzman-McMillan “felt hot” while awaiting rescue. Reports from the 12 firemen who survived in Stairwell B also have them saying they felt heat in the Stairwell even when initially climbing up. (This fits with my articles on the early sub-basement nuke’s thermal rays that affected many people, including Felipe David.) Indeed I might say that the following report from Rick Cushman is the very first report of what I have lengthily described as the China Syndrome Aftermath. See this blog: wtc-chinasyndrome.blogspot.com. Now Rick Cushman was a marketing manager and National Guardsman from Saugus, MA. He rushed to Ground Zero from Massachusetts. For 12 hours he searched for survivors in the rubble. “But he had not seen any — only pieces of bodies. Beneath his boots, heat billowed up through the web of steel.” Then Cushman heard Guzman-McMillan’s shouts and directed rescuers to her.
Now this article reveals numerous things. Despite the fact that there was likely a large number of people going down Stairwell B at the moment of collapse— as there were only three stairwells in each tower— people survived only at a few locations along Stairwell B. There are several possibilities, according to my many small nukes hypothesis. As previously hypothesized here, there could have been several failed or fizzled nukes. Or there is the possibility, that at certain intervals, those who were in an effective nodal region— between nukes—may have survived, at least initially.
Now Stairwell B contained 14 survivors— including 12 firefighters— who survived the tower’s final destruction. Two others— Buzzelli and Guzman-McMillan— were on Stairwell B at the onset of “collapse,” but were found elsewhere in the rubble pile. And four others were found in the underground Mall. (This includes the two Port Authority policemen depicted in the Oliver Stone movie.) Again it appears that the South Tower’s “collapse” curiously did not have any such survivors. Now the New York Magazine article indicates again that some of these Stairwell B surviving firemen surmised that they survived a nuclear attack: “[Captain] Jonas and his men, finally freed from their stairwell, looked around at fires and flattened buildings. They thought they were witnessing a nuclear attack.” My articles on the nuclear destruction of the WTC have detailed how many firefighters surmised this. Why? Firefighters are well familiar with heat from fire, but if they feel great heat on their skin and they are nowhere near a fire, they know something very different is going on! Readers of my articles, and of this blog by Spooked, and his 33 blog here can also see the involvement of the PTB, when the article states “When Buzzelli called at 3:30 everything changed, though not as she’d expected. Soon, she’d know that he’d somehow landed safely in the midst of acres of destruction, a lone soul dropped to safety on a concrete slab…”
The New York Magazine article has other quizzical matters, and should be read in its entirety. There is the matter of the 12th Floor as depicted here. “Jonas picked up a Mayday from the lieutenant of Ladder Five, who reported that he was in Stairwell B on the 12th floor. Jonas had passed him on the way down, helping a civilian. “I’m trapped and I’m hurt bad,” he said. Jonas, who was on the fourth floor, tried to climb the stairs but couldn’t ascend more than a floor, and in any case, as he’d later learn, the stairwell had no 12th floor. “I’m sorry, I can’t help you,” he radioed back.”
The highest-ranking officer on Stairwell B was Chief Richard Picciotto. He later wrote a book, as the article continues: “Picciotto’s Last Man Down became a best-seller. It would also end his friendship with Jonas—“It’s a very bad book,” says Jonas— and whatever camaraderie he shared that day with the others from Ladder Six. “We don’t speak to him,” says Komorowski. “Liar,” Butler wrote in his copy of the book.”
““It was part of my personality to take charge of a situation,” Picciotto writes. “I’d never been the type to sit idly by while someone else called the shots, and I wasn’t about to start now…Picciotto was the highest-ranking guy, but he was not the commanding officer. He was doing nothing. He was balled up in a corner,” says Jonas.”
Picciotto’s book says he was on the 7th Floor when the North Tower “collapsed.” These articles indicate that the extant height of Stairwell B, after tower destruction, was five flights. And this should be kept in mind when researching where people were at the moment destruction began, and where they ended up. It appears that each flight had two levels of standard zigzag stairs as depicted here. We must keep in mind that anyone being blasted on the stairwell, but remaining in the stairwell, would have been blasted in a straight line, and shouldn’t have been blasted more than a flight of stairs. This is different from those—like Buzzelli and Guzman-McMillan— who were apparently blasted OUT of the stairwell, at some point, during the tower’s destruction.
(And, of course, the stairwell above the fifth floor may have been vaporized, or otherwise destroyed.) With Guzman-McMillan ending up buried under some rubble, and Buzzelli atop the rubble. I also note that there appears to be no pictures that show the very TOP of the extant five-floor Stairwell B section. Could this be because the top contains obvious indications of the great (nuclear) heat of tower destruction? Have these photos been cropped, as many photos were in the Kennedy Assassination? I was the first to note the similarity of the remnant of Stairwell B, and the remnant of the tower from the fizzled Upshot-Knothole Ruth nuclear fission bomb test of 3/31/53. At least the bottom third of the bomb’s tower remained because the nuke had fizzled—it had a yield about 1/15th of what was expected. See here:
Note the date has a 33. The tops of the Ruth test tower and Stairwell B have some similarities as I indicated to Spooked, and as he has in his article at his blog here on 3/12/09. The tops indicate some steel has melted and twisted downward.
Finally, I cite the book, Report from Ground Zero: The Story of the Rescue Efforts at the World Trade Center by Dennis Smith [not read by me]. In particular I cite this review by Sterling D. Allan, an apparent alternative energy expert. After reading that book, and Stairwell B’s survivors’ accounts, Allan reveals, “a cohesive conclusion: A POWERFUL WIND WAS GOING UP THE STAIRS AS THE BUILDING WAS COLLAPSING DOWN. This would seem to refute the official pancake theory of collapse in which one floor after another fails as the mass from above comes down.”
Allan includes this familiar hypothesis, “One possible explanation for these survivors, in the demolition model, is that explosives that were placed in the vicinity of this stairwell section failed to go off.” Allan however appears to only consider non-nuclear matters, but his review is dated in 2006, before my articles, and that of others, on the nuclear destruction of the WTC appeared.
But I conclude with the question—does the now-revealed UPWARD WIND, of final tower destruction, indicate a nuclear blast from the ground, or perhaps more likely from the basement? Is this upward wind another indication of the final cleaner nuke that I have written about for several years now? As I have written, this final cleaner nuke may also have been seen as the so-called “nuclear glow” that TV cameras panned AWAY FROM while purporting to show what was happening at the WTC.
So-- we have seen now that “surfing the collapse” is not as the regime wishes to have it depicted. Many floors of “surfing” are missing, and ending up atop the rubble— with a huge building “collapsing” on top of you— is incredulous. Also we see that firemen’s accounts of the upward wind of final collapse fits well with my nuclear destruction scenario, but it impossible with the OCT, as there would be no wind until the pancaking floors hit that level, and that would have been a downward wind.

The Fall of the WTC1 Spire and the Intact WTC1 Stairwell: Proof of Demolition Near Bottom of the Tower
Now remember the "spire" of WTC1 that remained for a few seconds during the destruction of the tower?
It was a good 70 stories high, and was part of the WTC1 core:
The spire didn't topple over, but fell more-or-less STRAIGHT DOWN:
IF THE SPIRE MERELY COLLAPSED, FALLING STRAIGHT DOWN, THE HEAVY CORE COLUMNS SHOULD HAVE OBLITERATED THE STAIRWELL AT THE BASE OF THE CORE!
Rather-- the stairwell WOULD survive if the spire was blown with bombs at the base-- a few stories above the stairwell. In this way, the higher spire columns could fall to the side as the base was blasted out. Perhaps several bombs along the base of the core were used to create this result. But it seems clear that a collapse of the spire could not result in this intact stairwell. It also seems likely that this nuclear blasting along the core/spire would account for all the missing WTC1 core columns!

The Effect of a Low Yield Nuke on a Steel Structure
The Ruth shot was a fizzle. The predicted yield was 1.5 to 3 kt, while the 200 ton yield was a fraction of that. Especially embarrassing to UCRL was that only the top 100 feet of the 300 foot shot tower was vaporized (though much of the remainder was scattered across the desert). It was standard practice at that time for each test to totally erase all evidence associated with it (automatically "declassifying" the site), which Ruth failed to do.
Hard to tell how tall this tower remnant is but I would guess about 100 feet, if the cross-sections are 10 feet apart (which would fit what looks like a ladder near the base).

Note-- this puts the WTC destruction into good perspective. If a 200 ton yield nuke can vaporize 100 feet of steel structure, and destroy 100 feet or more of it, you can imagine the yield nuke that would be required to vaporize the innards of the 208 foot wide WTC while leaving the outer walls more or less intact. What's not clear is if there is a linear correlation between nuke yield and vaporization radius-- I would guess it's not perfectly linear.

Omega 3 Oils May Prevent Prostate Cancer
Men who consumed the greatest amount of long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids had a 63% reduced risk of advanced prostate cancer compared with those who ate the least (OR 0.37, 95% CI 0.25 to 0.54), John Witte, Ph.D., of the University of California San Francisco, and colleagues reported in Clinical Cancer Research.
The relationship was strengthened in men who had a specific variation on the COX-2 gene: those with the genetic variation and low omega-3 consumption had a substantially increased risk of aggressive cancer (OR 5.49, 95% CI 1.80 to 16.7).
Action Points
* Explain to interested patients that this study found that men who ate the most dark fish or took supplemental fish oil were the least likely to develop advanced prostate cancer, and that the relationship was affected by a genetic variation.
* Point out that this study cannot determine causality even though Dr. Robert O. Young suggests that all cancerous conditions are caused by lifestyle, diet and metabolic acids.
"Previous research has shown protection against prostate cancer, but this is one of the first studies to show protection against advanced prostate cancer and interaction with COX-2," Dr. Witte said.
"Consuming omega-3 oils from fish, hemp seed and flax seed may reduce inflammation, thereby decreasing the risk of prostate cancer development and progression," states Dr. Young.
Most studies looking at the association have found a reduced risk of prostate cancer with greater dietary intake, and there is some evidence that the relationship is modified by COX-2, which is involved in the metabolism of Omega 3 oils, they said.
To explore the association with aggressive disease, the researchers recruited 466 men diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, which was defined as a Gleason score of 7 or higher, a tumor-node-metastasis stage of T2c or higher, or a prostate-specific antigen level greater than 10 ng/mL.
As controls, they enrolled 478 men who were free from cancer.
Increasing consumption of any oils(fish oil, flax oil or hemp oil) and total long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated oils -- assessed using a food frequency questionnaire -- was associated with a reduced risk of aggressive prostate cancer (P≤0.0001 for trend).
Specifically, men who ate boiled or baked dark fish (such as salmon, mackerel, and bluefish) one to three times a month had a 36% reduced risk of aggressive disease compared with those who never ate it (OR 0.64, 95% CI 0.48 to 0.86).
Men who ate dark fish at least once a week had an even greater reduction in risk (OR 0.43, 95% CI 0.29 to 0.63).
Of nine single nucleotide pleomorphisms on COX-2 that the researchers evaluated for an effect on the association, only one -- rs4648310 -- had a significant modifying effect (P=0.02).
Among men with the variation, those with low intake of omega-3 oils had a greater risk of aggressive prostate cancer and those with high intake had a reduced risk.
"Our findings . . . suggest that, although carriers of the variant pleomorphism had an overall increased risk of aggressive prostate cancer, this deleterious effect was found only in men consuming low levels of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids," the researchers said.
They said this supports "the hypothesis that long-chain omega-3 fatty acids may impact prostate inflammation and carcinogenesis through the COX-2 enzymatic pathway."
However, they acknowledged, "more clinical and biological studies are needed to decipher how dietary long-chain omega-3 fatty acids and other factors involved with inflammation, such as COX-2 genotypes, affect aggressive prostate cancer."
Dr. Young suggests, "long-chain polyunsaturated omega-3 oils have the ability to chelate or buffer environmental, dietary and/or metabolic acids due to their unsaturation of hydrogen ions. This allows these oils to uptake toxic acidic waste products along their carbon chain, preventing a cancerous condition that would otherwise cause the breakdown of body cells leading to all cancerous conditions."
The study was limited, they said, by a small sample size for detecting gene-diet interactions and possible recall bias. In addition they noted the possibility of prognostic selection bias and confounding "because a majority of our cases were diagnosed by screening and screening, a health-conscious behavior, may be associated with the consumption of a healthier diet, fish, and long chain fatty acids."
The study was supported by grants from the NIH and a Laval University McLaughlin dean's grant.

Preventing Breast Cancer With Soy Isoflavones
Researchers found that among nearly 1,600 Asian Americans with or without breast cancer, higher soy intake throughout life was associated with a lower risk of this so-called disease. But the strongest protective effect was seen with childhood soy intake.
Women who'd eaten soy regularly as children -- roughly once a week or more -- were about 60 percent less likely to develop cancerous breasts than women with lower soy intakes in childhood.
Regular soy consumption in adulthood, meanwhile, was linked to a 25-percent reduction in cancerous breast tissue risk.
The findings, reported in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention, echo those from earlier studies suggesting that soy helps protect against cancerous breasts.
But they further suggest that childhood soy consumption may be especially important.
It's not clear why diets high in soy have been linked to a lower cancerous breast tissue risk. In this study, Ziegler's team tried to account for the effects of overall lifestyle by asking the women questions on how "Western" or "Eastern" their lives had been growing up and in adulthood.
Even with those factors considered, childhood soy intake was still linked to lower cancerous breast tissue risk, while the connection between adulthood intake and breast cancer risk weakened somewhat.
Some researchers suspect that estrogen-like soy compounds called isoflavones may offer some breast cancer protection.
"Soy isoflavones block the acidic action of estrogen that causes the biological transformation or destruction of healthy body cells, including breast cells. Also, soy isoflavones reduce inflammation in the body by buffering metabolic and dietary acids," states Dr. Robert O. Young, a research scientist at the pH Miracle Living Center, in Valley Center, California.
Exposure to soy isoflavones early in life may be especially important in breast cancer risk, Ziegler and her colleagues speculate. Animal research, they note, has shown that soy may promote earlier maturation of breast tissue and greater resistance of the tissue to acidic cancerous causing substances.
According to Dr. Young, "Acids from diet, from metabolism and especially from endocrine activity, can be deposited in the breast tissue causing inflammation and potentially leading to cancerous breast tissue. Soy isoflavones can play a key role in chemically neutralizing these acids and therefore may help to prevent a cancerous condition of the breast tissue."
