A friend's 24 year old son has been missing for 10 days.
I found out Friday during a visit to the young man's father's house and now they have gotten the media involved.
It's a given that this is a parent's and grandparent's worst nightmare. Their lives are upended as they search for answers.
It's also a reminder that family is the most important thing.
Give your kids a hug and tell them you love them.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Police are searching for a recent MTSU college graduate.
Josh Proctor, 24, was last seen at a party in Murfreesboro last Friday night.
"Our biggest hope and prayer is that somebody out there have seen him or heard from him," father Matthew Proctor told News 2.
The last known activity on Proctor's cell phone was around 3:15 a.m. last Saturday morning when he made a call to a cab company to reportedly take him to a Waffle House.
According to Proctor's family, surveillance video from the Waffle House on Church Street showed him eating and then leaving the restaurant on foot.
No one has heard from the recent college graduate since.
Proctor's father told News 2 that his son's truck was broken down and he was using cabs and friends to get around from place-to-place.
He said his son would not have hitchhiked.
The family has spoken with the cab driver and the waitress that waited on Proctor early last Saturday morning.
"They made it quite clear that he was jovial and talked about how well things were going in his job and life was better than expected," Proctor said.
On Sunday, family and friends spent time posting pictures and details on Facebook about the 24-year-olds disappearance. They also urged others to pass along the picture.
The 24-year-old was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and black sweat pants.
"It ain't right to [go] this long and not hear anything," stepfather Jimmy Rousell said, adding, "That's why we are really scared."
"We love the man and so does everyone I know of. So I don't know what to expect come tomorrow, but all of our lives are on hold waiting to hear from him," Proctor said.
The family told News 2, they are hoping nearby businesses with surveillance cameras may have captured images of the college graduate leaving the Waffle House to give them a better idea of where he may be.
Anyone with information on the disappearance of Proctor is urged to call Murfreesboro Police at 615-849-2670.
